A seminar co-sponsored by the League of Women Voters of the Upper Valley and the Rockefeller Center for Public Policy and Social Science at Dartmouth College. Stephen Brooks, Assoc. Professor of Government will discuss the range of foreign policy strtegies tht the U.S. might pursue in the years to come.

Leadership Development Conference.
The Presidents of the Quad States Leagues are excited to present a second leadership conference, in response to the success of last year's event.
Four workshops are planned for the day and a half long meeting. Each will be held twice, so all attendees can go to all the sessions. The topics are
Advocacy and LWVUS Positions: Advocating at the state and national levels based on LWVUS positions; coordination with LWVUS; protocol for contacting Congressional delegation.
Candidate Debates and Forums: Organizing debates; nonpartisan principles; keeping them both fair and interesting; following the law.
Membership Strategies - What Works: Recruitment; member and leadership development; member retention; best practices from LWVUS.
Conducting a League Study: The nuts and bolts of study at the local and state level; getting organized; developing resources; educating members; reaching out to the community.
While the boards and officers of state and local Leagues and MAL units are encouraged to attend, any members who are interested in learning more about how the Leagues work are welcome.

Make your own hotel reservation (1-207-646-0555). Be sure to say you are with the League of Women Voters for room rate of $95.23 (incl. tax). The block of rooms will be held until April 18, but the rate will remain in effect until the event. Breakfast is included in the room rate. We will have dinner in the area on Saturday.

LWV Central Vermont Annual Meeting.
Come to the 5th Annual Meeting of the League of Women Voters of Central Vermont. The business meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. follwd by potluck dinner and guest speaker.
This year's speaker is Jon Groveman, General Counsel and Water Program Director for the Vermont Natural Resources Council. He will discuss water resource issues facing the state and our region.
